A key milestone was achieved on Monday as a Self-Help Group (SHG) from Zido village in Upper Siang district delivered the first consignment of fruits and vegetables to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). This initiative is part of a recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the ITBP and the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board.

The MoU aims to provide local farmers and SHGs with better market access, enhancing their livelihoods. The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) Block Mission Management unit in Tuting, in collaboration with the agriculture department, has been instrumental in organizing the SHGs and supporting their entry into the agricultural market.

The successful delivery paves the way for more opportunities for local SHGs, particularly those led by women, to expand their market reach, boosting economic independence and contributing to community empowerment.
