In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Manipur Police arrested two individuals in separate incidents, seizing significant quantities of suspected contraband substances.
In the first case, police apprehended Anil Katwal (27) of Kanglatongbi Mandir, Imphal West, after discovering 13 packets of suspected opium, weighing approximately 13.20 kg, hidden inside a four-wheeler vehicle. Both the contraband and the vehicle have been seized as part of the investigation.
In another operation, law enforcement officers arrested Bashir Ahomod Laskar (36), a resident of Nutan Ramnagar Part I, Cachar, Assam, currently residing in Lilong Bazar, Imphal West. He was found carrying 4.24 kg of suspected brown sugar concealed inside a welding machine box. The illicit substance has been confiscated.
Authorities continue their probe into both cases, aiming to dismantle potential drug networks operating in the region.
