PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School in Namchi, Sikkim, has made history by becoming the first Green-Rated school in the Northeast for the year 2025.

The school was recognized at the Green Carnival and Green School Award Ceremony 2025, organized by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in New Delhi.

The Green School Rating is awarded to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental sustainability through comprehensive Green School Audit reports.

These reports, submitted by over 10,000 schools from across India, were evaluated from July to December.

Only 150 schools, including PM Shri Govt School, received the prestigious Green School Rating for the 2024-25 session.

This achievement highlights the school’s efforts in promoting eco-friendly initiatives and raising environmental awareness among students.
