A joint operation was conducted today from 6:30 AM to 8:50 AM in the general area of Wangoo Mameiching and Nongyai Hill range by a combined team of security forces. The operation was carried out under the overall command of SDPO/Sugnu (MPS) and the supervision of Shri Th. Vikramjit Singh (IPS), SP Kakching District.

The participating teams included personnel from the CDO Unit Kakching, led by OC-CDO Unit Kakching, along with units from OC Wangoo Police Station, BSF 06 Bn. E-Coy, 46 Assam Rifles (F Coy), and the 2 MAHAR Regiment.

During the search operation, security personnel recovered a cache of arms and explosives concealed in an empty rice sack at a secluded area at the foothills of Wangoo Nongyai Hill range. The recovered items included one Single Barrel firearm, one SLR rifle with an empty magazine, two .36 HE grenades, one tear gas grenade, one tear gas shell, two IEDs (approximately 600 grams each) and one empty rice sack (marked ‘Superstar’, white in color).

Following the recovery, a case has been registered at Wangoo Police Station, and further investigation is underway. The security forces continue to maintain a strong presence in the area to prevent any potential threats.
