The Transport Department of Mizoram has issued an urgent notice for vehicle owners, permit holders, and driving license holders to update their records in order to comply with regulatory requirements.

The department pointed out several key issues, including mismatches in Aadhaar and mobile numbers linked to vehicle registrations and driving licenses in the VAHAN and SARATHI portals. It was also noted that many vehicles that have been scrapped, off-road, or damaged still have active registrations, and ownership transfers have not been reflected in the system. Additionally, expired fitness certificates, road tax, and insurance records have not been updated for numerous vehicles.

The notice further emphasized that several permits remain unrenewed, and many driving licenses have expired.

The Transport Department has advised all concerned individuals to visit their local District Transport Offices to update their details, renew expired permits and driving licenses, and ensure that their vehicle records are up to date in the VAHAN portal.
