Imphal: Manipur Police have arrested one person in connection with the abduction of two non-local individuals from the Kairang-Heingang Khong area under Heingang Police Station, Imphal East district.

The arrested individual has been identified as Md. Anwar Hussain (41). According to police reports, the victims, Rintu Mina (37) of Kanaimara Part 2, Dhubri, Assam, and Montu Sheikh (20) of Gasbari, Assam, were abducted from Hatta, near Public Hospital.

Acting swiftly, a police team launched an operation and successfully rescued the abductees unharmed. Further investigations are underway, officials said.
