Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur, calling it a delayed acknowledgment by the BJP of its failure to govern the conflict-ridden state.
In a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said the decision proves that the BJP-led government was incapable of handling the situation in Manipur.
“Now, PM Modi can no longer deny his direct responsibility for Manipur,” Gandhi wrote on X.
He further questioned whether the Prime Minister would finally visit the state and address the crisis. “Has he finally made up his mind to visit the state and explain to the people of Manipur and India his plan to restore peace and normalcy?” he asked.
The imposition of President’s Rule comes amid ongoing ethnic violence and unrest in Manipur, which has been a major political and humanitarian concern for months.
