Guwahati, February 18, 2025: Manisha Tiwari, an international strengthlifting athlete from Ranipool, Gangtok, has been honored with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement (Sports) Award.” The award will be presented to Tiwari at the closing ceremony of the 29th National Sports Cultural Festival on February 23, 2025, at Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir in Guwahati.

This recognition celebrates Tiwari’s exceptional contributions and dedication to the sports community. The event will also commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Premoda Kanta Sarma, a renowned freedom fighter and an influential figure in the development of sports culture in Northeast India. The Assam Sports Association (ASA) announced the award, highlighting Tiwari’s outstanding impact on the field of sports.
