Wokha, Feb 20: AICC Secretary in Charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, and MP S. Supongmeren Jamir, alongside NPCC leaders, met with Wokha District Congress Committee (DCC) officials at Congress Bhavan on Wednesday. The meeting focused on enhancing the party’s organizational structure and addressing political challenges in the lead-up to the 2028 elections.
Key discussions centered on strengthening grassroots leadership and mobilizing party workers across the district. Tilak emphasized the importance of a strong narrative, effective leadership, and active fieldwork, drawing comparisons to Mahatma Gandhi’s mobilization efforts and Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. He also criticized the BJP for its failure to address employment and development concerns, urging Congress workers to engage with voters based on principles of truth and accountability.
Supongmeren Jamir underscored the need for capable leadership at the constituency level and assured that restructuring efforts would prioritize merit. He emphasized that leadership decisions would aim to revive the Congress in Nagaland while ensuring no one would be left behind.
Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, highlighted the party’s preparations for the 2028 elections under the “Roadmap 2025-26,” affirming the ongoing statewide tour as a sign of Congress’ commitment to serving the people of Nagaland.
