Public Surrenders 32 Types Of Weapons And Ammunitions Across Manipur Districts

In a significant demonstration of civic responsibility, members of the public have voluntarily surrendered a total of thirty-two different types of weapons, various ammunitions, and other miscellaneous items across Churachandpur, Imphal East, and Kangpokpi districts.

At the Commando Unit of Lamlai Police Station under the 7th Manipur Rifles battalion in Imphal East, surrendered items included a .303 rifle with a magazine, a single-barrel gun, an improvised M-18 gun, four grenades, another single-barrel gun, two pistols, an AK rifle accompanied by three magazines and additional ammunitions, a .303 MK-III rifle, and a 9mm pistol.

Additional arms, ammunitions, grenades, and other articles were turned in at police stations in Porompat and Heingang in Imphal East District. In Churachandpur, a locally made 12-bore single-barrel weapon, six pompis, and a locally manufactured landmine were surrendered at the local SP office. Meanwhile, at Saikul Police Station, eight pompis, a country-made bolt-action rifle, three country-made 12-bore weapons, and corresponding cartridges were handed over by the public.
