The Manipur government is set to resume bus services between Imphal and Churachandpur, as well as Imphal and Senapati via Kangpokpi, starting Saturday, according to a statement issued by Chief Secretary PK Singh.
The Manipur State Transport (MST) services will operate under the escort of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to ensure public safety and work towards restoring normalcy in the state. The buses will depart from Imphal airport at 9 a.m., the statement said.
Return services from Churachandpur and Senapati to Imphal via Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts, respectively, will also be available.
Additionally, helicopter services between Imphal and Churachandpur will commence on March 12.
The government has warned that any individual attempting to disrupt MST bus operations will face legal action under relevant laws.
This development comes after a failed attempt in December last year, when a previous bid to restart bus services to Kangpokpi and Churachandpur was canceled due to a lack of passengers at the MST complex in Moirangkhom, Imphal.
