Kohima, Mar 12: Sixteen transport vehicles were distributed to Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) under Phase IV of the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for the North-East Region (MOVCDNER). The distribution ceremony took place at the Directorate of Agriculture in Kohima on 11 March.

Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan stated that the department has distributed around 50 transport vehicles under the MOVCDNER scheme and is working on subsidies through the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) to assist farmers in acquiring vehicles through bank financing.

Director of Agriculture S. Yongchang Phom urged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles effectively to enhance market linkages and strengthen organic farming initiatives.
