Agartala, March 18, 2025: Tripura’s Tipra Motha Party founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has alleged that the examination for the Kokborok subject, conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), was unfairly administered in Bengali script, causing significant distress to tribal students. Taking to social media on Monday, he claimed that examiners in several schools did not assist students who struggled with the script, despite prior agreements ensuring such support.

“As per the agreement, the examiners were supposed to help tribal students who cannot understand the Bengali script in the Kokborok examination. However in several centers, they failed to do so leaving students in trouble,” Debbarman stated. He emphasized that this lack of assistance disrupted the exams for many tribal students, affecting their performance.

Debbarman further revealed that he had already spoken to leaders of the Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) and met with the Chief Minister to address the issue. “I have warned of strict action against those responsible. This is an injustice to our students, and we must not remain silent,” he asserted.

Calling for unity among the tribal community, he urged them to raise the matter both inside and outside the assembly. However, he did not specify the names of the schools where the incidents took place or the exact number of students affected. The allegations have sparked concerns among tribal organizations, who are demanding immediate intervention from the authorities.
