Itanagar, March 19: Arunachal Pradesh athletes secured seven medals at the ASMITA Khelo India North East Pencak Silat Women’s League, held in Dimapur, Nagaland, from March 17 to 18, 2025.
According to North East Pencak Silat Federation (NEPSF) General Secretary Kipa Takar, 12 female athletes from Arunachal participated in the competition, with seven winning medals.
Paching Lily won gold in the Open category, while Gyamtu Ligu and Yani Nabam claimed silver in the 65kg-70kg and 50kg-55kg categories, respectively. Likha Aku (60kg-65kg), Damsop Tungi (55kg-60kg), Hinium Mama (45kg-50kg), and Shanti Lochung (60kg) secured bronze medals.
The team, led by coach Sonam Lamrah, was praised for its performance, showcasing the state’s growing talent in Pencak Silat.
