Tripura’s Unemployment Count Reaches 3,36,551 Including 245 Ph.D Holders, Reveals Government Data

Agartala, March 24, 2025: The Directorate of Employment Services & Manpower Planning today published key employment statistics for the state. The data provides insights into unemployment trends and the educational qualifications of job-seekers.

According to the report, the total number of unemployed individuals registered on the National Career Service Portal stands at 3,35,551. Among them, 82,136 are from Scheduled Tribes (ST), reflecting the challenges faced by specific communities in accessing employment opportunities.

Further analysis reveals that educational qualifications among the unemployed include 245 Ph.D. holders, 18,905 individuals with Master’s degrees and 1,006 with Doctorate qualifications. This highlights the growing demand for skilled employment in the state.

Additionally, the report sheds light on the pressing issue of overage unemployed job-seekers, with 2,383 individuals crossing the age limit for government jobs.

Minister in-charge of the Employment Services and Manpower Planning department Tinku Roy informed this in a written reply on the second day of assembly’s budget session.
