Shillong, Mar 27: Meghalaya’s Social Welfare Minister, Paul Lyngdoh, has confirmed that the state government will launch a comprehensive investigation into the deaths of two students from Meghalaya in Karnataka.
Although the matter was not raised during Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting, Lyngdoh stated that a formal report will be presented by the Commissioner and Secretary in charge of the Home Department to both the Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Minister.
Lyngdoh also assured that the government will take strict action if allegations of religious conversion involving minors are found to be true.
