Shillong, Mar 29: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Meghalaya successfully intercepted two significant smuggling operations on March 28, 2025.

In the first operation, troops from the 4th Battalion (4 Bn) BSF rescued 19 cattle that were being smuggled across the International Border in the West Jaintia Hills district, preventing them from being illegally trafficked to Bangladesh.

In a separate operation, the 144th Battalion (144 Bn) BSF seized 285 Yaba tablets concealed near the International Border in South Garo Hills (SGH) district. The drugs were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh.

These operations underscore the BSF’s continued efforts to safeguard the border and combat illegal cross-border activities.
