Agartala, March 29, 2025: In a major step towards fortifying its cyber security infrastructure, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has approved its IT/OT/IoT and Cyber Security Policy. The decision was taken during a board meeting chaired by Abhishek Singh, IAS, Secretary (Power), Government of Tripura under the guidance of Biswajit Basu, Managing Director, TSECL.

This newly approved policy, developed entirely in-house by TSECL engineers, aligns with the guidelines set by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power (MoP), and other regulatory bodies. It is designed to provide a comprehensive framework for safeguarding critical data, IT infrastructure, and consumer-sensitive information, ensuring that TSECL remains resilient against evolving cyber threats.

The implementation of this policy is expected to bring significant benefits to consumers, employees, and stakeholders, reinforcing TSECL’s commitment to digital security and operational efficiency.

The policy will enhance data protection and online transaction security, ensuring that customer information remains confidential and safeguarded from cyber threats.

Clearly defined best practices and IT usage guidelines will minimize risks related to cyber-attacks and data breaches while fostering a more secure digital work environment.

The initiative ensures greater transparency, regulatory compliance, and accountability, reinforcing trust in TSECL’s digital infrastructure.

The newly adopted cyber security framework aims to: Protect IT and OT systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access, Ensure compliance with national and industry regulatory standards, Strengthen incident response and disaster recovery mechanisms, Enhance productivity through secure and efficient IT practices, and Promote a culture of cyber security awareness across all levels of the organization.
