Manipur Police Arrest Six Drug Traffickers, Four Poppy Cultivators In Kangpokpi

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Manipur Police arrested six individuals from Kangpokpi district in connection with a case registered at Kangpokpi Police Station.

The arrested traffickers have been identified as Khaikahao Kipgen alias John (40), Letgoumang Touthang alias Amon (33), Aabi Baral (28), Jitten Kharka (22), L. H. Ranirou (42), and Leah Chao (44). They were apprehended on Saturday.

During the operation, police seized 174 soap cases of suspected brown sugar and recovered a four-wheeler from their possession.

In a separate case, four individuals were also arrested for illegal poppy cultivation in Songjang village, IT Road, under Kangpokpi Police Station. The accused have been identified as Janggoulen Kipgen (41), Letginlal Kipgen (41), Kamginlen Kipgen (25), and Thangminlen Kipgen (34).

All arrested individuals have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal action, according to official reports.
