Kohima, Mar 31: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan highlighted the role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in fostering patriotism and leadership during a felicitation ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on March 30. The event also featured a screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat broadcast.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor praised the NCC for shaping young minds with values of discipline, service, and national pride. He noted that several cadets had represented Nagaland in the All India Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, won medals at national competitions, and secured admission to the National Defence Academy.
Ganesan emphasized that the achievements of the cadets reflect the core values of the NCC and align with the spirit of Mann Ki Baat, which highlights contributions to society. Encouraging youth to join the NCC, he urged them to uphold the principles of “Seva aur Samarpan” (Service and Dedication) in their careers and personal lives.
During the event, outstanding cadets were honored for their achievements in leadership, community service, and national-level competitions. The Governor presented certificates of appreciation to the awardees. The event was attended by officials from the Governor’s Secretariat, NCC officers, Assam Rifles personnel, and other dignitaries.
