A meeting of BJP MLAs in Manipur was held on Tuesday at the party’s state office in Imphal, convened by BJP State President A. Sarda Devi. The meeting was attended by 12 BJP legislators, while several others were absent. Party office bearers also participated in the discussions.

The ongoing delimitation exercise in Manipur was the primary focus of the meeting. MLA Y Khemchand Singh stated that discussions centered on the potential impact and implications of the process. Meanwhile, MLA K Robindro Singh revealed that BJP legislators are considering proposing a delay in the delimitation exercise, emphasizing the need for further deliberation.

Senior BJP MLA Govindas Konthoujam stressed that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) should be implemented before delimitation to ensure accurate demographic representation.

Amid concerns among the public, MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh reassured citizens that delimitation would not negatively affect Manipur and urged people not to panic over the process.
