Guwahati , Apr 4: A Ferruginous Duck, a rare winter migrant and Near Threatened (NT) species, was spotted in Assam’s Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve on Friday.

This bird, which breeds in parts of Europe and Central Asia, migrates to South Asia during the winter months.Known for its preference for shallow, vegetated freshwater habitats, the sighting highlights the significance of Assam’s wetlands in supporting migratory bird species.
