Guwahati, Apr 11: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025. This year’s overall pass percentage has dropped to 63.98%, marking a significant decline from last year’s 75.7%.
Amishi Saikia from Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat, topped the state by scoring 591 out of 600 marks, achieving an outstanding 98.50%.
Saptarswa Bordoloi of Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati, Guwahati, secured the second position with 590 marks (98.33%), while Anirban Borgohain, also from Pragya Academy, stood third with 589 marks (98.17%).
A total of 4,22,737 students appeared for the HSLC examinations held from February 15 to March 3. Practical exams were conducted earlier on January 21 and 22.
Among the successful candidates, 89,041 students passed with First Division, 1,35,568 with Second Division, and 45,862 with Third Division.
The 2025 session marks the final year of the HSLC exam in its current format. Starting 2026, Class 10 board exams in Assam will be conducted at the district level as part of a major educational reform.
