204th Bhanu Jayanti Celebration Held at Sikkim

The inaugural ceremony of the three days long 204th Bhanu Jayanti celebration of 2018 was held at the Community Hall, Gyalshing in West Sikkim on Wednesday. The program was inaugurated by lighting of lamp and prayers by Chairman of Gyalshing Municipal Council (GMC) I. K Neopaney, DC (West) Dr. A. B. Karki (SCS) and S.P West Karma Loden Lepcha (IPS). The event also saw the presence of Padma Shree Kedar Gurung.

I.K. Neopaney in his address to the public talked about how one can benefit through the life efficient teaching of Ramayan and how the teachings of good deeds can help an individual in the context of today’s world scenario. He even appreciated the untiring efforts of HCM in favour of the growth in poetic field of the Nepali community and its poets. With a strong desire to conserve cultural ethics he also encouraged all to take an efficient step towards the conservation of culture in a positive manner.

Furthermore he expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards all personals who took valuable efforts towards making the celebration a success. Lastly, he urged all for taking positive influence and suggested practicing valuable ethics rather than just success.

The program hosted an array of events like various cultural presentation and competition in fields of Ramayan recitation, story telling, poems, etc. which were performed by students of different schools in and around Gyalshing.

The program was also attended by T.N. Tewari, General Secretary Sikkim Academy, C.K. Katual, J.D (HRDD), and all members of organizing committee.
