What the Expert Says:

While interacting with Northeast Today a renowned Tea Taster from Assam, who seeks anonymity due to contractual reasons, says that the job profile of a tea taster is to test the teas and categories the quality of tea as good, medium and poor. Only after that the buyers or the sellers would know what would be the cost of the tea.

“Tea tasters are hired by the tea companies in their marketing department so that they would know about the quality. A tester is also hired by the buyers so that they quote an appropriate price for the teas they are buying” he said.
