Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA), Secretary, Kipa Ajay, has said that all norms and guidelines laid by AIFF, All India Football Federation(AIFF) is followed in all aspects including ground preparations in the ongoing 25th Sr. Women’s National Football Championship hosted here at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. Alternate ground arrangements have also made other than the fields in CHF (College of Horticulture & Forestry) and Pasighat Stadium in view of the heavy rainfall.

On the issue of current pitch condition and preparatory efforts and also playing matches in heavy rain that have been highlighted in Media, the press statement said despite unexpected rainfall and weather conditions, they are doing their best to overcome the challenges. The Secretary made this statement while interacting with media persons both from print and electronic media here today at Siang Guest House this afternoon.

Informing that APFA has worked extremely hard on developing playing venues for the 25th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the last two months , he said that “ When we are all prepared. Nature’s fury comes down to us. However, he said that AIFF and APFA are making all out efforts to make this a historic championship despite the challenges posed by the unprecented heavy rainfall at this time of the year. On being asked about the timing of the Championship, he said that the event is a scheduled event set by AIFF.

He also added that for the first time that a Union Minister has attended such event while mentioning that Mos( Independent Charge), Shri Kiren Rijiju, Youth & Sports Affairs, Govt. of India, has attended the inaugural ceremony on 10th September. He further said that the East Siang District Administration under DC, Dr, Kinny Singh and also SP, Rajiv Ranjan Singh are providing all support. The APFA officials and Official Team from District Administration and other line departments are on their toes to ensure that provisions ranging from accommodation,sanitation, fooding ,water supply is ensured. Every evening a coordination meeting is held with the Coaches and Managers to discuss on all issues.

Regarding ground feasibility, the APFA Secretary informed that ground feasibility for every match is assessed under the Match Commissioner and Refrees of AIFF. He further added that football is a tough game of body contact, hence injuries cannot be ruled out.

The APFA Secretary along with State Coordinator, APFA , Orin Lego, “ also extended their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the people of Pasighat in particular and soccer lovers and visitors for the overwhelming support and the large crowd turn up for the matches despite heavy rainfall . They also thanked the participating team for the support and sportsmanship spirit shown by them.”The APFA Secy further urged football Lovers to continue to support and come out in large numbers for the coming matches, adding that the players are giving their best with high quality Football adding that the people of Arunachal and NE are great fans of the game of Soccer.
