The 33rd statehood day was celebrated in a grand way at district Headquarters Tawang, celebrations in a similar way were made in all the administrative outposts of Tawang district. DC Tawang, Shri Sang Phuntsok IAS hoisted the national flag at the general parade ground in presence of a huge gathering of general public and government officials.

Speaking on the occasion DC Tawang said Arunachal Pradesh state is one of the best performing states of the country. We as part of Government doing our best in delivering services to the public, for our sincere and dedicated service state government has awarded us with a gold medal, and I hope every individual who has been doing their service sincerely will be recognised by the government and expect a gold medal for all of them. Further speaking on developmental activities in Tawang, he said, till so far we have conducted 24rounds of Sarkar Aapke dwar camps which has benefitted more than 27,570 villagers.

Mago was the only border village which has not been connected by road, but the government has sanctioned the roads and work is under progress and very soon we will be able to go to Mago by vehicle. There is still a shortage of electricity supply but we can expect these shortages will be fulfilled very soon with the completion of Nuranang Phase II and sumbachhu project in Zemithang. He appealed the general public to keep the surroundings clean and maintain the honour we got as the cleanest district of the Northeastern states. DC also spoke about the government welfare schemes being implemented by the various departments and asked the general public to take maximum benefits.

Later DC Tawang under Arunachal Rising campaign felicitated the Best ASHA, ANGANWADI worker and progressive FARMERS with a trophy, cash award and appreciation certificates to the students for Essay Competitions. This was followed by a presentation of cultural programmes and conduct of games and sports. The prizes for the winners in these competitions were given away by DC Shri Sang Phuntsok, SP Tawang Shri S.S.Kalsi and Commander 190 Mountain Brigade Brigadier ZubinBhatnagar.
