Fresh polling at the Gimba polling station in the Tali assembly constituency in Kra Daadi district could not be held on Saturday as the wire suspension bridge over the Kumey river was deliberately snapped by miscreants.
Sources in the Kra Daadi district election office informed that the polling team, led by returning officer Biaro Sorum, was stranded on the Dote side of the Kumey river since Friday.
According to the district authority, the bridge was snapped in order to thwart the polling team from reaching the polling station.
The chief electoral office (CEO) here informed The Arunachal Times that the date for the second re-poll in Gimba will be anno-unced within a few days.
There are three candidates, representing the INC, the BJP and the Janata Dal (United), for the Tali constituency.
Eighteen polling stations in Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts were to undergo fresh polling after the Election Commission of India announced 27 April as the date for fresh polling in four assembly constituencies in the two districts.

Meanwhile, the re-polling at the remaining 17 polling stations in Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts were reportedly held peacefully. The polling stations included six in Palin, three in Nyapin, six in Koloriang and three in the Tali assembly constituency.
