The sustained focus on use of technology driven solutions to usher in transparency and accountability Pema Khandu led government in Arunachal Pradesh continually faced the challenges of connectivity in the remote regions of the state.
The lack/ poor connectivity remained one of the biggest roadblocks in upscaling the digital initiatives towards the remote regions of the state.

The department of telecom has already sanctioned adequate funds for taking reliable connectivity upto the gram panchayats in the state and has set ambitious targets to complete the projects by 2019.

The Chief Minister on Friday inaugurated the facility of X at the Silicon Valley to understand the emerging technologies to connect the unconnected with Internet.

“My vision of a digital driven transparent governance will remain concentrated only in few urban pockets if the issue of connectivity is not resolved in the shortest possible time,” said Khandu, while adding, “Arunachal Government will be very keen to adopt this technology which would provide high speed Internet to remote areas in the shortest possible time frame which would augment the ongoing optical fibre solutions under implementation by DOT.”

Khandu further urged on the Chief Secretary to facilitate a team of experts to study and project the requirements immediately.
