BCCI Announces India U19 Teams: Manipur’s Rajkumar Rex Singh to Represent Country for the First Time

Recently the junior selection committee announced three India U19 teams that will play across two different series in the upcoming season. The two series in question are a couple of four-day games against South Africa Under-19 team and a following Under-19 Quadrangular One-Day series between India U19 A & B teams, South Africa U19 and Afghanistan U19 teams.

 While the two-match series in whites against South Africa starts on February 20, the Quadrangular One-Day series gets underway on March 5. The second four-day game will be played from February 26.

The India U19 squad for the four-day matches against South Africa colts include Rajasthan’s Suraj Ahuja as their captain and wicketkeeper. For the first time, a player from Manipur has been incorporated into an India representative team.

Manipur’s 18-year-old fast bowler Rajkumar Rex Singh who rose to fame after picking all 10 wickets in an innings, December last year, is a part of the said squad. Meanwhile, Ludhiana cricketer Nehal Wadhera has been selected to captain India A U19 Indian squad for One-Day matches. The skipper of the India B U19 squad for the quadrangular series is Rahul Chandrol of Madhya Pradesh.
