CPI (M) would never support independent Tripura and Twipraland demand, because it has no people’s support, this was said CPI(M) state secretary Bijan Dhar.

While addressing a rally at Rabindra Chowmuhani in Sonamura, Dhar said, “We are also against giving a state council status to Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) but will support if the Centre wants to empower the state’s lone tribal council.”

He also alleged the BJP has been instigating IPFT leadership to gain political mileage in the 2018 Assembly elections. “The BJP had provided money to NC Debbarma during ADC by-election and is providing money to IPFT leadership to carry on the agitational programme.”

“There has been a persistent effort to create anarchy like situation in the state. People must remain vigilant to foil such attempt”, he stated adding that although Leftists are against applying force on peaceful agitation but the ongoing blockade could be tolerated any more.

In his speech, he also expressed his dismay the way mandays have been reduced by the state. “Around 2.50 crore mandays have been reduced for Tripura which will have an adverse impact on the poor people.”
