Film talents from Northeast will get a chance to act with Grammy awardee AR Rahman in his directorial debut Hindi film. Rahman, bollywood music-producer has been eyeing for passionate North East male actors to be cast as a second lead in his directorial debut Hindi film, industry sources said.

He has already announced for the audition and the aspirant must be young enough to portray a college student, should be fluent in English, and should be able to play the guitar. Touted to be a musical drama, the yet-to-be-titled movie would go to floors in March, next year, the sources added. Rahman’s works are noted for integrating Eastern classical music with electronic music, world music and traditional orchestral arrangements.

Nicknamed as “the Mozart of Madras”, Rahman has an in-house studio in down South. Rahman’s film-scoring career began during the early 1990s with the Tamil film Roja. Working in India’s film industries, international cinema and theatre, Rahman is one of the world’s all-time best-selling recording artists.
