BJP MP from Darjeeling, West Bengal Raju Bista, visited his alma mater, the Presidency College Motbung in Manipur today where he was warmly felicitated by the College authority.

The Delhi-based entrepreneur, who was the Managing Director of a leading Indian multinational group, Surya Roshni Limited before the Saffron party fielded him as their candidate in the 2019 Indian general election from Darjeeling in West Bengal was born and brought up in Kangpokpi District of Manipur. He completed his graduation in Arts stream at Presidency College Motbung in 1997.

Donned with Gorkha traditional attire, the 33-year-old MP received a warm welcome from the College authority, teaching and non-teaching staff led by the college Principal Dr. T. Gangte.

“I have spent the most crucial period in my life at this college and that crucial period in my life had been well moulded and brought up by the college that today I can become one of the Indian Parliamentarian”, the MP said while addressing the gathering.

“I will not disappoint my alma mater at any moment rather I would try my level best to keep its name”, the Parliamentarian, an alumnus of Presidency College Motbung added.

The Darjeeling MP also said, “My focus is Darjeeling but being born and brought in the state of Manipur I will always put all possible efforts for the development of the state with the rest of other Indian states. The present NDA Government focus is now in the North East states in terms of development and reforms and changes will happen in the education sector as well in the North East.

It is also worth mentioning that, the Darjeeling MP also called on the state Governor Dr. Nejma Heptulla and Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh earlier before visiting his Alma Mater in Kangpokpi District today.
