Dibrugarh University Students Write Letters In Blood to Assam CM

A total of 16 students of Dibrugarh University have written letters to the Chief Minister of Assam in their own blood to scrap the CAB 2016 on Monday.  In a protest named “Rakto-Xapat” which means a vow taken with blood, was organized by Dibrugarh University AASU Unit and the Post Graduate Students’ Union in association with DU Research Scholars’ Association and the neighbouring citizens of the area.

Thousands of students, employees and local inhabitants gathered in the protest and criticized the anti-indigenous people stand of the Assam and Central Government. Dibrugarh University, the alma mater of Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal,  has pledged not to accept the CAB 2016 in any situation at any cost.

Senior Advocate Abhimanyu Baruah, Arunjyoti Moran of All Moran Students’ Union, Udayan Gogoi of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parishad, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Prof. Pallavi Deka Bujarbaruah, Dr Rupam Saikia of Dibrugarh University joined in the protest and expressed their stand against the CAB. Uddip Jyoti Gogoi, central executive member of AASU and Sankor Jyoti Baruah, General Secretary, All Dibrugarh District Students’ Union have also participated in the Protest and stoutly warned the Government to pull back from Government’s agenda of implementing the controversial CAB.

Dibrugarh University AASU Unit on Monday also declared that the students of the University will hold public meetings to spread awareness on CAB in various remote areas of the state.
