Every Sikkimese Should Make Contributions Towards Building Sikkim: Chamling

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling called on coordination meeting with the MLAs, Members of Municipal council, Zilla members, Panchayats and officers of West District on Monday at the auditorium hall of Kyongsa Girls SSS.

Chamling, while addressing the gathering said, “The government employees are for the common people and they must serve the people in best possible manner so that people do not face any inconvenience. Our government is people centric and we cannot ignore the common Sikkimese”

He also added that every Sikkimese should make contributions towards building Sikkim. He also stated that efforts of every Sikkimese including bureaucrats, government employees and the common people can make Sikkim a state with prosperity, progress and development.

Speaking about issue of lack of work force in the different departments raised by the District Collector (west) Kapil Meena, the Chief Minister directed that information about such issues should be provided to the Head of concerned Departments and report should be filed in the Chief Minister’s Office within a week . The Chief Minister said that the issue of shortage of needed work force will be sorted out soon and also announced that a club house for sports enthusiastic government employees will be established at a government property soon.

The Chief Minister also stressed that works related to different schemes must be qualitative and negligence would not be tolerated. The state government has sanctioned money for the carpeting of all the roads of West Sikkim and said that people should not blame him for such issue. He urged the engineers concerned with different departments not to prepare estimates keeping their own personal benefits in mind. The Chief Minister said that the state government will work comprehensively for better Sikkim of tomorrow.

Speaking about delay in construction of Geyzing college and Kyongsa Sport Stadium, the Chief Minister said that it is due to negligence on the part of concerned departments and contractors that the project is pending. “Students are suffering due to lack of amenities at higher educational centre just because the persons connected with the project could not live upto the expectation. He added that it is disappointing to see the developmental projects is pending even when the state government has sanctioned the expenditure required for those projects.

The Chief Minister assured to look after all the issues related to different sectors at the earliest.
