The pole star in the history of science, Stephen Hawkings, breathed his last at the age of 76. His contribution to the world shall always remain relevant and immortal. Remembering the brilliant personality, here are some facts about him to know the person more deeply.

  •  Stephen Hawking (8 January 1942-14 March 2018) was a British Scientist, Physicist, Cosmologist, Professor, Author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. He is known for his work with Black holes and relativity and several popular science books like ‘A Brief History of Time’, ‘The Universe in a Nutshell’, ‘The Grand Design’ and lot more.

  •  At the age of 1963, he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease .  To be specific, an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease where the nerves that control the muscles are affected.
  •  At the age of 32, Hawkings earned the Albert Einstein Award due to his Radiation Theory that matter, in the form of radiation, can escape the gravitational force of a collapsed star.

  •  In August 2015, Hawkings proposed the theories on Black Holes where he stated that information about the physical state of the object is stored in 2D form within an outer boundary known as the “event horizon and has the possibility to release the information into another universe.
  •  In March 2018, Hawkings as an interviewee with Neil De Grasse Tyson’s Star Talk stated that Quantum gravity which replaces real time with imaginary time the history of the universe becomes like a four-dimensional curved surface, with no boundary.
