Fire in Itanagar: Khandu Instructs District Administration to Take Immediate Steps

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed deep shock and grief over the fire accident that took place in Nerba Colony of Itanagar on Monday morning, which reportedly gutted down about 9 houses including two motorcycles.

“All measures will be taken to rehabilitate and compensate the loss,” said Khandu, adding, “The concerned department and the district administration have been issued necessary instructions to take up immediate relief activities and make assessment of all the losses.”

Besides, Khandu also appealed all sections of the society to rise to the occasion as they always did to help the unfortunate victims through contributions in cash and kind.

Meanwhile, he has announced ex-gratia relief of Rupees four Lakhs each to the next of the kin of Late Tashi Ngurup Auas Natoka of Lhoudung Village, Tawang who drowned recently at Tawang and of the two JNV students drowned on July 27 namely Aloko Borang and Biky Pertin. One of the students namely Abraham Lipir is still missing.
