Assam Election Commission on Friday announced that Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council election will be held on June 12.

The last date for filing of nominations is May 19, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 20 and the last date of withdrawal is May 22. The counting will take place on June 17.

The election in all the 26 constituencies of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council will be held on June 12 between 8 am to 4 pm, the State Election Commission said.

The council has 30 members, of which 26 are elected and four are nominated by the governor. Of the 26 seats for which the polls will be conducted, 10 are in Diphu subdivision, nine in Hamren and seven in Bokajan.
