The newly created Kangpokpi District in North Manipur has scripted history in the field technical and professional education when the College of Horticulture, College of Community Science (Home Science) and College of Biotechnology established by FEEDS Group of Institution were recently approved for temporary affiliation under Manipur University.

FEEDS is also the host institute of KVK Hengbung and the first in bringing KVK in the hill districts of the state.

Hengbung village in Kangpokpi District is located around 50 Km. from the state capital Imphal along the National Highway while the trio Colleges in the village were projected to be the finest colleges of Horticulture, Home Science and Biotechnology in the North Eastern states including Manipur and the other countries at large.

“Admission into technical and professional colleges of Horticulture, Community Science and Biotechnology in other places is not easy and many aspiring youths from the state and NE Region could not get the admission as it [Admission] has been mainly based on quota basis”, averred FGI President while recalling that it pains me a lot when many of our aspiring youths from the state and NE Region have to bear the brunt of quota system admission and an unaffordable learning.

He said that aspiring students can now embark on their future journey from these College platform by availing holistic development, meaningful and value-based education through technical and professional courses, capacity building through carefully designed academic programmes while building their capacities to meet challenges of their times through innovative teaching, furtherance of basic, strategic, applied and anticipatory research coupled with efficient technology delivery system in all the areas of Horticulture, Community Science and Biotechnology.
He also said that the FEEDS Group of Institution has already put in order well-qualified, visionary and dynamic faculty that regularly upgrades itself to enrich teaching, research and outreach initiatives while adding that many have received national and international recognition for their work and several faculty members are engaged with apex educational bodies, serve as consultants and resource persons for governmental and non-governmental organizations and often invited to lead research projects by eminent organizations.

According to FGI President, the colleges will also provide a range of innovative facilities for the care, education and development of the students in a designed to churn out young men and women with tremendous potential, talent and capability so as to be able to look ahead with confidence, skill, positivity, do-able strategies, with growth and development and clarity of knowledge by investing their energy and time with their mentors in the Colleges.

The clean and abundance of undulating water, the fresh air from the greenery tall trees and the secure and separate home away from home hostel for men and women, well-equipped laboratories and classrooms would abreast the students with changing academic and environments.
