Nagaland, Meghalaya Announce HSLC, HSSLC Results

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Monday declared the results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations, while Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBoSE) has declared the results partially.

In Nagaland, out of 22,446 students who appeared for the Class 10 exam, 15,754 were successful in passing the examination. This year the pass percentage is 70.19%.

According to NBSE, Chairperson Asano Sekhose, “Girls in private schools performed better than boys, but it is not same in government schools.”

As per the performance chart 87.48% girls from private schools succeeded compared to 85.95% boys in the Class 10 exam. But, in government-run schools, the girls (40.2% success) lagged behind the boys (45.5%).

Similarly in, the rate of success in NBSE’s Class 12 science exam this time was 86.94%, which is 4.48% more than in 2016. Of the 2,650 students who appeared, 2,304 were successful.

In the arts stream, a total of 9,005 students out of the 11,653 have succeeded. The success rate (77.28%) was 5.18% more than last year.

In the commerce stream, 829 of the 1,169 candidates have succeeded. The pass percentage of this year is 70.92%.

Subsequently, MBoSE has declared the class 12 science results. Of the 3662 students –that appeared for the Class 12 science and commerce exam, 2,811 passed for a success rate of 76.76%, which was 2.3% higher than the last year.

Accordingly, in commerce stream out of 2,193 students 1,576 have passed with flying colours. The pass percentage of this year is 71.87%.

It is to be noted that, Meghalaya will soon declare its Class 10 and Class 12 arts stream results.
