Arunachal Pradesh will host the prestigious South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-19 Championship in 2025, marking a historic milestone for the state as it prepares for its first international football tournament.

The tournament will take place from May 8 to 17, 2025, at the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Yupia, with six teams from the SAFF region—India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka—competing for the regional title.

The allotment letter for the event was officially handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) Honorary Secretary Kipa Ajay by All India Football Federation (AIFF) Secretary-General Anil Prabhakaran.

Hosting the tournament is expected to boost the state’s football infrastructure, inspire young players, and enhance sports tourism. The APFA, in collaboration with the AIFF and local authorities, is committed to delivering a high-standard tournament.
