Guwahati, Jan 19: The carcass of an adult female tiger was found in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) on Sunday evening, officials said on Monday.
According to park authorities, the remains were discovered by patrolling forest guards in the Kathpora area of the Bagori Western Range during routine surveillance.
Officials said a committee has been constituted to conduct a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. The carcass will be disposed of in accordance with the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), they added.
