Guwahati, Aug 7: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday appealed to the people to continue their protests against encroachers through peaceful and lawful means. He cautioned that taking the law into one’s own hands could have serious consequences.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Guwahati, Sarma reiterated the state government’s support for democratic protests. He, however, warned that any harm caused to the Assamese community could further aggravate the situation.
