Assamese designer Sanjukta Dutta paid a heartfelt tribute to music legend Zubeen Garg during her showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI on Friday.
Her segment, “Tribute to the Legend Zubeen Garg”, featured Rewati Chetri, former Miss Asia University, walking the ramp in a saree adorned with artistic sketches and lyrical motifs of Zubeen Garg, celebrating his cultural legacy.
Dutta also unveiled her new collection, “Gadhuli – The Twilight”, inspired by the transition between day and night, highlighting Assamese handwoven textiles in modern silhouettes with black and maroon tones.
The show included a live violin performance by Sunita Bhuyan, while Bollywood actor Neelam Kothari appeared as the showstopper, showcasing designs reflecting Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
The event was widely appreciated as a fusion of music, craftsmanship, and Assamese tradition, turning the runway into a celebration of Zubeen Garg’s enduring influence.
