Bharatiya Janata Party Nagaland State General Secretary Sunep C. Jamir on Wednesday described the recently passed Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAMG) Bill as a key initiative aimed at strengthening rural employment and livelihood systems.
Speaking at a press conference in Kohima, Jamir said the Bill aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision of long-term national development. He stated that the existing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) framework was fragmented and lacked a focused approach.
According to him, the VB-GRAMG Bill has been designed to provide a more structured mechanism for rural employment and livelihood generation, with the objective of supporting balanced and inclusive development across rural areas.
