Agartala, January 30, 2026: The Union Government has disbursed the second instalment of Untied Grants under the XV Finance Commission for the financial year 2025–26 to Panchayati Raj Institutions and Rural Local Bodies in Tripura, reinforcing efforts to strengthen grassroots administration and local development.
Under this instalment, Tripura has received Rs 3,060 lakh (Rs 30.6 crore). The allocation will cover 606 eligible Gram Panchayats, 35 Block Panchayats, eight Zilla Parishads, 587 Village Committees, 40 Block Advisory Committees, and one eligible headquarters of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Additionally, the Centre has released Rs 85 lakh from the withheld portion of the first instalment of Untied Grants for 2025–26 to one more eligible TTAADC headquarters, extending financial support to tribal self-governance institutions.
Officials said the untied grants provide flexibility to local bodies in planning and executing projects according to area-specific needs, enabling improved public services, infrastructure creation, and more responsive governance in rural areas of the state.
