Assam Rifles has seized a large consignment of liquor worth nearly ₹1 crore during an operation along NH-37 near Awangkhul in Tamenglong district, the paramilitary force said in a statement on Thursday.

The operation led to the recovery of 1,430 cases containing over 32,000 bottles and cans of assorted liquor. Assam Rifles stated that the consignment, along with the individuals involved, was handed over to the state police for further action.

Reaffirming its commitment to curbing illegal trade and maintaining peace in the region, Assam Rifles said it will continue its efforts to uphold law and order.
