A one-day awareness programme on Child Protection and Related Laws was held at Khunyai Village Community Hall, Machi Block. The event was organised by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tengnoupal, in collaboration with NUSMUCOS Ltd., Pallel Cluster.
Md. Nuzmul Huda Khan, MCS, SDO Machi attended the programme as Chief Guest, while Arif Sajad, SDC Tengnoupal, and Devavrata Sharma served as Guest of Honour and President of the function, respectively.
The technical sessions were conducted by Mrs. Darngam Khaling (Member Secretary, CWC Tengnoupal), Khulak Tonthang Dangshawa (2nd OC, Tengnoupal PS), and Tontang Moishel (Member, CWC Tengnoupal), who spoke on various aspects of child protection laws, legal procedures, and the importance of community involvement.
Although District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Devavrata Sharma could not attend in person, his message was read out during the event. In it, he emphasised that child protection is a collective responsibility and not the sole duty of any single department. He called upon all stakeholders to join hands in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the district.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from community members, youth, and village leaders. It concluded with an interactive discussion aimed at strengthening child protection mechanisms in the region.
