Agartala, February 2, 2026: Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as a “powerful and inspirational step” towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Deb said the budget brings new opportunities for youth, protection for farmers, encouragement for entrepreneurs, relief for the middle class, and dignity for workers. He emphasized that it strengthens innovation, manufacturing, and employment generation while boosting agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, tourism, culture, and India’s knowledge heritage. “In its true sense, this budget advances the mantra of ‘Development and Heritage’,” he remarked.
Highlighting the special focus on the Northeast, Deb noted that the budget prioritizes connectivity, infrastructure, tourism, energy, skill development, and empowerment of border regions. He said this will firmly integrate the Northeast into the national development mainstream and give fresh momentum to the vision of ‘Act East, Act Fast’.
The MP further underlined that under the Prime Minister’s direction, the budget provides strong support to MSMEs, startups, and domestic manufacturing, thereby reinforcing the foundation of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Expressing optimism, Deb stated: “I am confident this budget will play a crucial role in building a prosperous India of both the present and the future through social justice, inclusive development, and good governance.”
Concluding his remarks, Deb extended heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and sincere thanks to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting what he called a “people-centric and welfare-oriented budget.”
