Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday called for unity among all Naga tribes, stressing that collective strength is essential to overcome challenges and secure a shared future of progress. He made the remarks while addressing the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Kohima Lotha Hoho at the NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima.
Rio expressed hope for continued peace in Nagaland and urged communities to channel their time and resources toward development. He extended greetings to the Lotha community on its 50th anniversary and the Tokhu Emong festival, acknowledging their efforts in preserving culture and traditions while engaging with urban life.
Emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation, Rio praised recent initiatives to document traditional attires and patterns, and encouraged other tribes to undertake similar efforts, including seeking Geographical Indication (GI) tags. He also urged the younger generation to uphold their legacy and strengthen inter-community relations.
